Karawang Police Chief AKBP Fiki N Ardiansyah, through Public Relations Chief Ipda Cep Wildan, stated that video recordings showing mob justice being administered to two motorcycle theft suspects circulated and went viral on social media. Officers who received information conducted checks and attempted to secure the perpetrators.

“Officers secured the situation and evacuated two individuals suspected as motorcycle theft perpetrators who had previously been secured and subjected to justice by residents,” he stated on Monday, 9 March 2026.

He explained that officers subsequently evacuated both suspected perpetrators to Karawang General Hospital for medical treatment. However, based on the results of medical examination, one suspected perpetrator with initials A was declared deceased.

Meanwhile, one other individual with initials K alias E is currently undergoing treatment. Several pieces of evidence were secured, including one black Honda Beat motorcycle unit allegedly used for theft, one motorcycle belonging to the victim, one T-shaped key handle, and one mobile phone unit.

Police also conducted a crime scene investigation, sought statements from witnesses, and coordinated with the Inafis team from Karawang Police for further investigation.

The police urged the public not to take matters into their own hands. If residents find or become aware of criminal acts, they are asked to immediately report to police so the matter can be handled in accordance with applicable legal provisions.
