Motorcycle theft receivers network busted by police; dozens of motorcycles seized

A network of receivers in a motor vehicle theft (curanmor) case has been dismantled by officers of the Cirebon City Police (Polresta Cirebon). A total of 23 motorcycles were recovered from suspects.

The disclosure was the result of the development of motorcycle theft cases handled by the Cirebon City Police Criminal Investigation Unit (Satreskrim) from April to May 2026. Police Commissioner Imara Utama said that during that period, officers had dismantled one motorcycle theft case. In addition, there were four cases of theft with violence (curas), one case of theft with aggravating circumstances (curat), and one case of attempted curat.

From the development of the motorcycle theft cases, police subsequently uncovered an organised practice of fencing stolen vehicles. A total of 23 motorcycles have been seized.

‘We will release the chassis numbers as well as engine numbers. So members of the public who believe they have had their vehicles stolen can contact us,’ Imara said at a press conference at Mapolresta Cirebon, Thursday, 21 May 2026.
