Motorcycle Theft Gang Lifts Bike From Narrow Serpong Alley, Police Investigating
Two groups of motorcycle thieves operated in Cilenggang, Serpong, South Tangerang City. They stole residents’ motorcycles by lifting them. The acts were captured on CCTV and went viral on social media. From the viral video dated Thursday, 5 March 2026, it began with a man sitting on a motorcycle by the roadside. Shortly after, another man appeared and lifted the front of a motorcycle from a narrow alley while being pulled, then it seems he inserted an object into the motorcycle’s ignition. After successfully inserting the object into the ignition, the man started the bike and rode off with the other man waiting at the roadside. When asked for confirmation, Serpong Police Chief Kompol Suhardono confirmed that the two men were thieves. He explained that one thief lifted the motorcycle he targeted from a rental property inside the alley to avoid the attention of nearby residents. ‘Indeed (lifted). Up to outside the rental or on the road, the perpetrators used a (kunci) later T,’ Suhardono said when contacted on Thursday, 5 March 2026. He said the victims had filed reports with the police. The case is under investigation by officers. ‘The report has been filed, the incident occurred on Wednesday morning, 4 March 2026, reported on Thursday morning, 5 March. The crime scene is the rental at H Sohibudin, Cilenggang. (Currently) under investigation,’ he explained.
