The Bali Police revealed 166 criminal cases during the 16-day Operation Sikat Agung 2026, which ran from January 28 to February 12, 2026. The number of motorcycle theft cases has increased.

A press conference was held in front of the lobby of the Directorate of General Criminal Investigation at the Bali Police Headquarters and was led by the Chief of the Bali Police, Daniel Adityajaya. He was accompanied by the Director of General Criminal Investigation at the Bali Police, Kombes I Gede AdhiMulyawarman, the Head of Operations, Kombes Soelistijono, the Head of the Professional and Security Division, Kombes I Ketut Agus Kusmayadi, and the Head of Public Relations, Kombes Ariasandy.

The Chief of the Bali Police, Inspector General Daniel Adityajaya, explained that of the 166 cases uncovered, there were 74 cases of aggravated theft, 12 cases of theft with violence, and 80 cases of motorcycle theft.

“In this operation, we managed to secure 181 suspects. In detail, there are 77 suspects in aggravated theft cases, 15 suspects in theft with violence cases, and 89 suspects in motorcycle theft cases,” said Daniel at a press conference at the Bali Police Headquarters on Tuesday (February 24, 2026). Daniel was accompanied by the Director of General Criminal Investigation at the Bali Police, Kombes I Gede Adhi Mulyawarman, the Head of Operations, Kombes Soelistijono, the Head of the Professional and Security Division, Kombes I Ketut Agus Kusmayadi, and the Head of Public Relations, Kombes Ariasandy.

If classified, the suspects consist of 162 men, 6 women, and 13 children. A total of 168 people have been detained. In this operation, the Bali Police involved a total of 751 personnel, consisting of 200 personnel from the Bali Police Task Force and 551 personnel from the Police/district Task Force.

Meanwhile, the Director of General Criminal Investigation at the Bali Police, Kombes I Gede Adhi Mulyawarman, said that motorcycle theft cases had increased compared to the previous period.

“So, specifically for the category of motorcycle theft in Bali, there has been an increase, but most of the methods involve keys being left in the vehicles,” he said.

Adhi added that based on analysis and evaluation throughout 2025, the upward trend was significant at the end of the year.

“The incidents, when we analyze and evaluate from early, mid, and late 2025, namely in the first, second, and third quarters, there was an increase, and it was quite significant, namely more than 30 percent,” he explained.

In addition to securing suspects, the police also confiscated evidence in the form of 113 two-wheeled vehicles, 6 four-wheeled vehicles, 47 cell phones, 5 laptops, Rp 23,542,000 in cash, 6 gas cylinders, 45 pieces of jewelry, 5 electronic items, 5 screwdrivers, 5 crowbars, 3 T-shaped keys, 1 motorcycle key, and 8 vehicle registration certificates.

Daniel also appealed to the public who feel they have lost property to immediately coordinate with the police.

“Then, the evidence found will be handed over to the public, if anyone recognizes their lost property, please contact the Bali Police, as it has all been recorded here. Currently, there are victims whose property has been identified, and we will hand it over to 10 victims today,” said Daniel.

He also reminded the public to be more vigilant when parking their vehicles. “We also urge all members of the public to park their vehicles in a safe place. Do not be careless, negligent, or forget to remove the motorcycle key when parking,” he said.
