Motorcycle Theft at Bogor Nutrition Service Centre Causes Stir, Suspect Acts Casually Before Taking Vehicle
A motorcycle theft in the car park of the Nutrition Service Fulfilment Unit (SPPG) in Sindangrasa, East Bogor, Bogor City, West Java, has become a talking point on social media after surveillance camera footage showed the perpetrator acting casually in broad daylight. A viral video shows a man, believed to be the thief, arriving alone at the car park. Wearing a long-sleeved batik shirt and a helmet, the suspect appeared unhurried as he entered the parking area. The act went viral after the CCTV footage spread across various social media platforms, drawing a range of comments from netizens. Based on the circulating video, the perpetrator first observed the conditions around the location before carrying out his act. He was seen watching the situation in the car park for a few moments to ensure it was safe and that no one suspected him. After feeling the situation was favourable, the suspect walked towards one of the parked motorcycles. Shortly after, the suspect was seen tampering with the vehicle. Within seconds, the motorcycle was started and immediately ridden away from the location. The entire sequence of the theft was recorded by a surveillance camera installed in the car park. The police took action after receiving information about the theft. The Criminal Investigation Unit Head of the East Bogor Police, Iptu Heri Setiawan, said officers had visited the scene and conducted a crime scene investigation. ‘Officers are still conducting an investigation, we have checked the crime scene,’ Heri said on Saturday, 4 July 2026. According to him, the investigation is ongoing to uncover the identity and whereabouts of the perpetrator. From the preliminary crime scene investigation, police confirmed the theft occurred on Friday, 3 July 2026. The case was discovered around 12:15 PM Western Indonesian Time. ‘The results of the crime scene investigation show the incident occurred on Friday, 3 July 2026, and was discovered at 12:15 PM WIB. An investigation into the incident is still underway,’ Heri stated. As of now, law enforcement officers are still gathering evidence, including the surveillance camera footage that recorded the suspect’s act of taking the motorcycle from the car park.
