Jakarta badly needs the services of ojek (motorcycle taxis)
for transporting people who live in areas which cannot be reached
by public transportation.

But the bad side of the ojek is that the drivers are usually
careless and tend to drive fast which can endanger other road
users. Besides, they often loiter at a strategic site and
obstruct traffic.

They also vie for passengers alighting from buses with the
least thought of orderliness and the danger caused. Such scenes
are a common sight at the toll gate in East Bekasi, West Java,
and in nearby areas.

In the evening, the situation is even worse. The ojek, which
are supposed to wait for customers in the slow lane, get into the
fast lane, risking not only their own lives but other people's.

I hope the police will take necessary steps to discipline
these ojek drivers.
