Motorcycle Taxi Driver Found Dead at Mataram Market After Dropping Off Passenger
A motorcycle taxi driver named Ishak Mulyadi was found dead in the Kebon Roek Market area, Ampenan District, Mataram City, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB). The 46-year-old man had been transporting a passenger before being found lifeless.
“The victim worked daily as a motorcycle taxi driver in the market area,” said Ipda Komang Gede Puja Artana, Criminal Investigation Unit Head at Ampenan Police Station, on Monday (16 March 2026).
According to Puja, market residents had seen Ishak dropping off a passenger. However, shortly afterwards, Ishak was found lying face-down in the market area.
“Initially, residents thought the victim was sleeping. However, because the face-down position appeared unusual, residents tried calling to him. But there was no response,” Puja said.
“When touched, the victim’s body was already stiff. So residents immediately reported the incident to police,” he added.
Police suspect Ishak died from exhaustion after working since early morning. Puja said the motorcycle taxi driver’s body has been evacuated to Bhayangkara Hospital Mataram.
“We have gathered statements from several witnesses at the location to complete the investigation process regarding this incident,” he concluded.
