Motorcycle Sales at IIMS 2026 Reported to Surge 67 Per Cent
Jakarta – Motorcycle sales at Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) 2026 recorded significant growth amid global geopolitical challenges.
This increase signals that the domestic two-wheeler market remains resilient, even for the premium segment.
“Although geopolitics is challenging, our industry continues to endure,” said Project Manager Dyandra Promosindo, Rudi MF, to Kompas.com.
The 67 per cent surge in units and 47 per cent growth in transaction value demonstrate that consumer interest in motorcycles remains strong not only in the entry-level segment but also in the premium category.
A substantial number of vehicle order forms for premium brands served as a primary driver of this growth.
“Of the 8.7 trillion rupiah figure, the composition is similar to last year. 14 per cent is motorcycles, the rest cars. So cars remain dominant, above 80 per cent,” explained Rudi.
“Supporting industries or the aftermarket are also included in this, but the figures are not large although they grew approximately 3 per cent in rupiah terms compared to last year,” he added.
The display featured a complete range of manufacturers, from Japanese brands such as Astra Honda Motor (AHM), Yamaha Motor, and Kawasaki Heavy Industries, to premium European marques including BMW Motorrad, Harley-Davidson, Triumph Motorcycles, MV Agusta, Aprilia, Moto Guzzi, and Vespa.
