Motorcycle-Riding Breast Groper in Cikarang Bekasi Sparks Public Alarm as Police Launch Manhunt
Bekasi Regency — A woman has become the victim of a breast-groping assault on Jalan Nona Merah, RT 005/RW 004, Telaga Asih Village, Cikarang Barat District, Bekasi Regency.
The Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit at Cikarang Barat Police Station, Adjunct Commissioner Engkus Kusnadi, acknowledged that his office has yet to receive a formal report from the victim, but said investigative measures are nonetheless being taken to prevent similar incidents from recurring.
“Officers have visited the scene and conducted checks. We are also still seeking information regarding the identity of the harassment victim. No formal report has been filed to date, and I am still coordinating with the local neighbourhood head,” he said, as quoted on Wednesday, 18 February 2026.
In addition to locating the victim, police are also working to track down the perpetrator, who is believed to have been riding a Honda PCX motorcycle. However, identification of the vehicle’s number plate has been hampered as it was not clearly visible in the CCTV footage.
“The perpetrator was using a PCX motorcycle. Unfortunately, the vehicle’s number plate was not clearly captured on the CCTV recording,” he said.
Based on circulating surveillance camera footage, the incident began when the victim — wearing a hijab, a long-sleeved top and black trousers — was walking through a narrow alleyway. The perpetrator approached the victim from behind on a motorcycle. Upon drawing alongside her, he groped the victim’s chest with his left hand before speeding away.
Meanwhile, local resident Asip Awaludin (38) revealed that such harassment cases are nothing new in the area. However, this was the first time an incident had been clearly captured on a surveillance camera.
“Incidents like this have actually happened frequently. But this is the first time one has been caught on video. Usually it happens a bit further up the alleyway. The methods vary — some grope breasts, others expose their genitals,” he said.
Asip added that the majority of victims are women walking alone on quiet streets, particularly during the early morning Subuh prayer hours. Local residents are deeply unsettled by the situation and are hoping the perpetrator will be apprehended swiftly.
“It has become extremely alarming. Tenants who learn that this area is unsafe choose to move away. That automatically affects small stalls like mine as well — business drops off,” he said.
