Motorcycle Maintenance Programme with Internet Data Bonus Targets Online Taxi Drivers

The activities of online motorcycle taxi (ojol) drivers rely heavily on vehicle condition and internet access. Motorcycles used for many hours every day require routine maintenance, while an internet connection is essential for receiving orders and communicating while working.

These needs form the background for the collaboration between PT Pertamina Lubricants (PTPL) and PT Telekomunikasi Selular (Telkomsel) through the GOKIL Promo (Ganti Oli, Kuota Internet Lancar — Change Oil, Smooth Internet Quota). The programme, available to online taxi drivers in Jakarta, provides a bonus of internet data upon the purchase of Pertamina Enduro oil at official partner workshops.

Under this programme, Telkomsel users driving online taxis who purchase 0.8-litre or 1-litre packs of Pertamina Enduro oil will receive a 1 GB internet data bonus. This quota is valid for seven days, and the programme is scheduled to run from 23 September until 31 December 2026.

“Vehicles and connectivity are vital components in supporting daily activities,” said the Vice President of Marketing at PT Pertamina Lubricants, Nugroho Setyo Utomo, on Wednesday (23/09/2026).

For online taxi drivers, the motorcycle is the primary tool for work, meaning its condition must be closely monitored. Long distances, heavy traffic, and prolonged vehicle usage cause engine components to operate continuously.

One critical aspect to monitor is engine lubricant. Oil functions to lubricate components, reduce friction and wear, and help control heat during engine operation. Periodic replacement is necessary to maintain the lubricant’s condition according to engine requirements.

Nugroho noted that motorcycle oil changes are generally performed every 2,000 to 3,000 kilometres. However, this interval is not an absolute rule.

“This benchmark is not absolute; it depends on the type of oil and the motorcycle’s usage pattern,” said Nugroho.

Riders can also look for certain changes in their vehicles that may indicate oil needs to be checked or replaced. These include a heavier engine pull, louder engine noise, and increased fuel consumption.

To participate in the GOKIL Promo, the purchase of Pertamina Enduro oil must be made at official partner workshops participating in the programme. Information regarding the promotion is also being communicated to online taxi drivers via WhatsApp messages from Telkomsel.
