Motorcycle Gang Terror in Cimahi City Causes Public Unease

An amateur video showing an attack by a group of motorcycle gang members in the Kebon Kopi area, Cibeureum Village, South Cimahi District, Cimahi City, West Java, has gone viral on social media. The incident caused significant public unease and disruption.

The attack occurred in the early hours of Sunday (12/7/2026). In the circulating video, several individuals are seen riding motorcycles and revving their engines loudly on the highway. The matter is now being handled by the police.

"Yes, we have received a report regarding the alleged attack by a motorcycle group in the Kebon Kopi area. The incident took place in the early hours of Sunday. It is currently under investigation," said Cimahi Police Public Relations Head, First Inspector Gofur Supangkat, when confirmed on Monday (13/7/2026).

Gofur stated that according to eyewitness accounts, the motorcycle group was conducting a ‘rolling’ operation, searching for a rival gang with whom they had a previous dispute. They armed themselves with various types of sharp weapons during the operation.

"The information we have is that they were looking for another group they had a conflict with earlier. They were rolling around carrying weapons and then carried out random attacks," Gofur said.

Gofur confirmed there were no casualties in the attack. The Criminal Investigation Unit’s Mobile Investigation Team of the Cimahi Police is currently pursuing the motorcycle gang members responsible for the attack.

"There were no victims, and the attack did not result in any property damage. The Mobile Investigation Team has been deployed to hunt down the perpetrators," Gofur said.
