A man identified by the initials AA, known as Asmara (36), was arrested by police in Sukajaya Village, Lembang District, West Bandung Regency, West Java, after he was caught distributing crystal methamphetamine. The suspect is known to be a member of a motorcycle gang in Bandung City. Cimahi Police Deputy Chief Commissioner Zulkarnaen stated that the uncovering of the methamphetamine distribution case involving the motorcycle gang member began when personnel from the Cimahi Police Narcotics Investigation Unit received a report from the public. After conducting an investigation, the suspect was eventually apprehended along with the evidence. “We have secured a motorcycle gang member with the initials AA. The evidence seized weighs 35.45 grams of methamphetamine,” Zulkarnaen said at Cimahi Police Headquarters on Thursday (11/6/2026). Further investigation revealed that the suspect Asmara obtained the illicit substance from an individual with the initials OOK, also known as Klontong, who is still being pursued by police. The methamphetamine was then broken down into various package sizes including small, medium, large, full, and 5-gram packets. The drugs were subsequently distributed using a dead-drop system in the Jalan Setiabudi area of Bandung City, following instructions from Klontong. The suspect Asmara is known to have been a motorcycle gang member for 10 years. Asmara was found to have received methamphetamine from Klontong five times, in quantities of 30 grams and 20 grams each, for distribution over a two-month period. The suspect received a profit of between Rp 2 million and Rp 3 million for each batch of methamphetamine successfully distributed. “In addition, the suspect also received methamphetamine free of charge. So the total evidence that has been distributed is around 151.15 grams,” Zulkarnaen said. The suspect Asmara will be charged under Article 114 of Republic of Indonesia Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics and/or Article 610 paragraph (1) letter a of Republic of Indonesia Law Number 1 of 2026 concerning Criminal Adjustments, which carries a minimum prison sentence of 5 years and a maximum of 20 years.
