Motorcycle Crashes into Tree on Steep Buleleng Slope, Killing Two
A single-vehicle traffic accident occurred on a road in Selat village, Sukasada district, Buleleng regency, Bali, on Wednesday (21 October 2026). The two people on the motorcycle died. The crash is believed to have happened after the motorcycle’s brakes failed, causing it to hit a large tree.
Buleleng Police public relations chief Iptu Yohana Rosalin Diaz said the accident occurred at about 2pm local time in Banjar Dinas Tukad Juwuk, Selat village.
The Honda Vario, registration number DK 5491 FAY, was ridden by Lilik Prianto, 47, of Jatiasih, Bekasi, West Java. Faisal Syachori, 47, of Semper Barat, Cilincing, North Jakarta, was riding pillion.
Yohana said Lilik was travelling from south to north. At the scene, the pair were riding along a steep downhill stretch.
The motorcycle’s brakes are suspected of not working properly. The bike then swerved and struck a large tree on the western side of the road.
Yohana said the Buleleng Police Traffic Unit was still investigating the accident. The victims’ bodies have been collected by their families.
“The case is still under investigation,” she said.
