Motorbikes and Motis 2026 Participants in Bekasi to Be Transported on a Single Train
Bekasi — The Coordinator for the Free Motorbike Mudik Programme (Motis) at Bekasi Station, Rizki Prastya, has explained that motorcycles and the accompanying passengers taking part in the Motis programme, organised by the Directorate General of Railways (DJKA) of the Ministry of Transport, will be dispatched in the same train consist.
‘Motorcycles and their riders are in one train consist. So when the motorcycle arrives, the passengers arrive as well,’ Rizki told Kompas.com at Bekasi Station on Wednesday, 4 March 2026.
According to Rizki, collecting vehicles at the destination will not take long. ‘At most around one or two hours and the motorbike can be taken away directly,’ he said.
Rizki explained that the Motis programme is an annual scheme that has run since 2013 and continues to the present day. ‘This Motis programme has existed since 2013 and is still running through 2026. It is an annual programme,’ he noted.
He said the main aim is to reduce road accidents during the Lebaran homecoming period, particularly for people who usually travel by motorcycle with their families and carry a lot of goods. ‘The government provides facilities in the form of free motorbike shipping and free passenger transport to reduce traffic accidents during the mudik period,’ Rizki said.
Since registration opened on 1 March 2026, public enthusiasm has been high. However, Rizki confirmed that the registration process at Bekasi Station has been smooth. ‘So far it has been very safe, under control. The main issue is the high demand from homebound travellers; the main constraint is the lack of human resources,’ he said.
He noted that the early days of registration were the peak, as quotas were still plentiful. He added that the limited number of regular-train tickets for Lebaran mudik has driven some people to switch to Motis. ‘So their last option is here. Because we provide free motorbike and passenger shipping,’ he explained.
