Police are still investigating reports of a pocong-like figure terrorising residents in Sukahati, Cibinong District, Bogor, West Java, including determining the motive behind the incident. “The motive of the individual resembling a pocong remains unknown,” said Cibinong Police Station Chief Kompol Jony Handoko on Saturday (30 May 2026). Jony stated that, according to witness accounts, the sound of several motorbikes was heard before the pocong terrorised the resident’s home. The motorbike noise ceased near the location. Witnesses also did not observe whether the pocong was carrying a sharp weapon. Investigations are ongoing. Previously, information about the presence of a pocong-like figure in Sukahati, Cibinong District, Bogor, West Java, circulated on social media. Police are investigating the reports. In the posts viewed, the pocong was seen standing in front of a resident’s door. It was reported that the figure’s presence caused panic among locals. The incident has sparked widespread concern among residents, who have been advised to remain calm to avoid exploiting the situation for criminal activity. Meanwhile, Cibinong Police Station Chief Kompol Jony Handoko said the incident occurred early on Thursday (28 May), with authorities having visited the site. “Around 12:30 AM WIB, the witness’s child, SA, heard what sounded like loud knocking on the door,” Jony said on Friday (29 May). SA, who was awake at the time, initially thought it was their father knocking. However, SA saw a figure resembling a pocong at the door. “SA then took a photo and sent it to witness AR (their father). However, by the time AR arrived at the scene, the pocong-like figure had disappeared,” he explained.
