MotoGP 2026 Hosting Fee Borne by Central Government, NTB Province Assists with Facilities

West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Governor Lalu Muhamad Iqbal has confirmed that the matter of the hosting fee is entirely the domain of the central government. According to Iqbal, there is no regulation requiring regional governments to contribute cash budgets to help pay the hosting fee. “There is actually no obligation for regional governments to be involved in the hosting fee. But as host, we must contribute support. We are providing assistance in kind,” Iqbal explained on Monday (29/6/2026). Iqbal assured that the NTB Provincial Government, as host, is taking a concrete role through a non-cash or in-kind support scheme, similar to that applied for MotoGP 2025. The in-kind support prepared by the NTB Provincial Government includes providing free medical facilities, shuttle bus transport from Mataram to Mandalika, helicopter operational assistance, and facilitating arts and cultural performances to enliven the world-class motorcycle racing event. “Like last year, for example, the health team, whose costs are expensive, up to billions, we provided free of charge from the government. The regional government pays the hospital, so the money circulates within the region, but it still has value,” Iqbal elaborated. Iqbal hopes the number of spectators for MotoGP Mandalika 2026 can at least match last year’s achievement. The government’s main focus at present is maintaining and improving the quality of tourist visits to Mandalika. As is known, MotoGP Mandalika 2026 at the Mandalika International Circuit will take place on 9-11 October 2026.
