MotoGP 2026 Hosting Fee Borne by Central Government, NTB Province Assists with Facilities

The Governor of West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), Lalu Muhamad Iqbal, has ensured that the matter of the hosting fee is entirely within the domain of the central government. According to Iqbal, there are no regulations requiring local governments to allocate cash budgets to assist in paying the hosting fee.

“In reality, there is nothing that obligates the local government to be involved in the hosting fee. However, as the host, we must contribute our support. We are providing assistance in the form of in-scale support,” Iqbal explained on Monday (29/06/2026).

Iqbal confirmed that the NTB Provincial Government, as the host, will take a concrete role through a non-cash or in-kind assistance scheme, similar to the approach implemented for MotoGP 2025.

The forms of in-kind support prepared by the NTB Provincial Government include the provision of free medical facilities, the provision of shuttle bus transportation from Mataram to Mandalika, operational assistance for helicopters, and the facilitation of cultural arts performances to enliven the world-class motorcycle racing event.

“Like last year, for example, the medical team costs which can reach billions of rupiah, we provide for free from the government. The local government pays the hospitals, so the money circulates within the region, yet the value remains significant,” Iqbal elaborated.

Iqbal hopes that the number of spectators for MotoGP Mandalika 2026 can at least match the achievements of last year. The government’s primary focus at present is to maintain and improve the quality of tourist visits to Mandalika.

As is known, MotoGP Mandalika 2026 at the Mandalika International Circuit is scheduled to take place from 9–11 October 2026.
