Motives behind slanderous lies?

I am sure that former minister of investment and enterprises
development Laksamana Sukardi is devastated over the public
character assassination by President Abdurrahman Wahid (Gus Dur).

We all know that Gus Dur is wise and smart but I have to
question whether his "whisperers" are, too.

I feel very sad and concerned that President Gus Dur's
handicap is being exploited by his "whisperers" and I question
the motives behind the slanderous lies. Who is next? A very
disturbing situation.
