Motive Revealed in Cakung Motorcycle Showroom Kidnapping: Unpaid PCX Installments of Rp3.3 Million
The motive behind the kidnapping of Rizky Nur Aldriansyah (29) at a motorcycle showroom in the Cakung area, East Jakarta, has finally been uncovered. Police stated that the victim was allegedly held captive because he had defaulted on motorcycle instalments for two months. This fact was revealed by the Mobile Unit of the National Police Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim Polri) following an in-depth investigation into the high-profile case.
The victim had purchased a PCX motorcycle valued at approximately Rp30 million through an instalment system. “It was a matter of debt regarding the motorcycle purchase. The victim bought one PCX for about Rp30 million and was paying instalments to the showroom, but payments were two months late,” said the Head of the Mobile Unit of Bareskrim Polri, Commissioner Teuku Arsya Khadafi, on Monday, 18 May 2026.
Arsya explained that the victim had a monthly instalment obligation of Rp1,670,000. However, payments had stalled for the last two months, bringing the total arrears to Rp3,340,000. It is suspected that due to these arrears, Rizky was taken and held captive on the second floor of the showroom for two days. In addition to being held, the victim was also reportedly subjected to physical assault during his captivity.
Previously, it was reported that the rapid response of the Bareskrim Polri Mobile Unit successfully rescued a man suspected of being a victim of kidnapping on the second floor of a motorcycle showroom in Cakung, East Jakarta. The victim, Rizky Nur Aldriansyah (29), was freed after police received a report from the public via the ‘Bang Resmob’ WhatsApp complaint service owned by Bareskrim Polri. The report was received around 12:00 WIB, and officers acted immediately, locating the victim on the same day, Thursday, 14 May 2026.
“We arrived at the crime scene and conducted an investigation into the incident, successfully locating the victim, Rizky Nur Aldriansyah, who was being held captive,” said the Head of the Mobile Unit of Bareskrim Polri, Commissioner Teuku Arsya Khadafi, in a statement on Sunday, 17 May 2026. During the operation, the team led by Unit 3 Mobile Unit Officer, Assistant Commissioner Reinhard H. Nainggolan, also managed to detain two suspects, identified as Adrian Budyanto and Rohman.
