Mother's Tears Mark Release of Unram Student Murder Case

Eny Widyawati, the biological mother of Nadya Dwi Ramadhany, could not hold back her tears after learning that her daughter’s killer had been apprehended by the police. Eny attended the press conference regarding the disclosure of the murder case on Friday (31/7/2026) alongside her legal counsel.

While she spoke little, Eny expressed her gratitude, stating that she was thankful the perpetrator responsible for taking her daughter’s life had finally been caught. “As a mother, I would like to thank the Mataram City Police and the Criminal Investigation Unit for their hard work, as the perpetrator of our child’s murder was found in approximately two months,” Eny said through sobs.

Eny’s legal counsel, Lalu Anton Hariawan, acknowledged the difficulty of the investigation, stating, “We appreciate this; we know it was very difficult and not easy. Thank you for the hard work in uncovering this case.”

The perpetrator has been identified as Haikal, alias HA (17), a resident of Mataram, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), who was arrested on Wednesday (29/7/2026). In addition to the arrest, police also recovered Nadya’s motorcycle, which had been stolen.

Mataram Police Chief, Kombes Hendro Purwoko, stated that the motive for the murder was theft. “Based on the investigation, it is confirmed that this recidivist committed robbery with violence, which resulted in the victim’s death, with theft as the motive,” he said.

Evidence seized by the police includes the perpetrator’s shorts, the victim’s Beat Pop motorcycle, motorcycle keys, boarding house room keys, a sling bag, a hijab, jeans, a sweater, a phone case, a charging cable, a beach cloth, clothing, bedsheets, a pillow, a doll, and a knife.

Nadya was found dead in her boarding house room in the Gomong area, Selaparang District, Mataram, on the night of Sunday (17/5/2026). The victim, originally from Beru Village, Jereweh District, Sumbawa, was discovered by a friend who had gone to look for her. At the time of discovery, the room was locked, and the victim’s mobile phone and motorcycle were missing.
