Mother Run Over by Truck on Denpasar-Gilimanuk Road, Five-Year-Old in Critical Condition
A fatal accident has occurred again on the Denpasar-Gilimanuk Road, specifically west of the Candikusuma Police Post in Melaya District, Jembrana Regency, Bali. This time, a mother was killed after being run over by a trailer truck at the scene, while her five-year-old child, identified as AZLP, sustained severe injuries and remains in critical condition.
Melaya Police Station Chief Police Commissioner I Putu Suarmadi stated that the traffic accident occurred around 10:00 AM WITA on Saturday, 30 May 2026. The incident involved a Honda PCX motorcycle (DK 2391 FCQ) and a trailer truck with license plate L 9084 UR.
“A traffic accident has indeed occurred resulting in one fatality and two injuries,” Suarmadi told detikBali on Saturday.
The accident began when the trailer truck driven by Setiono Mariono, 47, was travelling from Denpasar towards Gilimanuk Port. At the same time, two motorcycles were behind and attempting to overtake the trailer truck.
The motorcycles involved were a Honda PCX (DK 2391 FCQ) ridden by Abdulloh, 30, with his wife and child as passengers, and another motorcycle whose rider remains unidentified.
During the overtaking attempt, the two motorcycles are believed to have collided. As a result, Abdulloh’s Honda PCX fell to the left, and his wife was run over by the truck’s rear wheels.
“When the PCX motorcycle fell to the left, the passenger (the wife) fell directly into the path of the truck’s wheels and was run over by the right rear tyre of the trailer truck,” Suarmadi explained.
Meanwhile, the unidentified motorcyclist fell to the right and fled the scene immediately. Abdulloh, who was carrying his wife and child, is from Glundungan Village, Wuluhan District, Jember Regency, East Java.
According to Suarmadi, Abdulloh survived the tragic incident. His wife was declared dead, while their child, AZLP, was found unconscious.
“The victim’s wife suffered severe head injuries (skull fracture). The unfortunate child has cuts, abrasions on the face, and a crushed left wrist. Both were immediately evacuated to Negara General Hospital,” Suarmadi said.
“The trailer truck driver, Setiono Mariono, was confirmed to be in good health and conscious,” he added.
The fatal accident case has been handed over to the Law Enforcement Unit (Gakkum) of Jembrana Regency Traffic Police. Police are still searching for the unidentified motorcyclist who fled the scene.
“We are still conducting further investigations to determine the exact sequence of events that led to this fatal accident,” Suarmadi concluded.
