Mother of 5 arrested for marijuana stash

JAKARTA (JP): A mother of five was arrested at her house in Bekasi for allegedly possessing and trafficking marijuana, police said yesterday.

City police spokesman Lt. Col. E. Aritonang identified the suspect only as As, 46.

"She was arrested Monday at her home on Jl. Siput Raya in Perumnas II Bekasi, West Java."

Aritonang said police had seized two ounces of dried marijuana, which was allegedly hidden by the suspect in bedroom pillows.

He said local people had tipped off police.

"They said there is a group of people, including the woman, who often sell marijuana to young people in the area."

He said police were still looking for at least five other group members, including the leader.

The woman had been detained at the Bekasi Police precinct. (cst)
