Mother and Child in Depok Slashed with Machete After Confronting Burglar

A mother and her child fell victim to a burglary in Sukamaju Baru, Depok. Both were slashed with a machete after confronting a burglar who had entered their home. Cimanggis Police Chief Kompol Jupriono confirmed the incident, stating that the event occurred on Monday (8/6) at 2:00 a.m. WIB. The perpetrator initially entered the house intending to steal a mobile phone but was discovered by the occupants. The two victims confronted the suspect and attempted to resist. Panicking, the suspect grabbed a machete that was on display in the house and attacked the homeowners. As a result of the incident, both victims sustained injuries to their fingers and face. They were rushed to Husada Cibinong Hospital for medical treatment. The case remains under investigation, and police are continuing to pursue the burglary suspect.
