Mother and Child Found Dead in Jombang, Skin Blistered
Two female bodies were found by residents in the former Polri (police) dormitory in Dusun/Desa Rejoagung, Ploso, Jombang. Both were a mother and child, the latter being five years old.
Both bodies were found in the pool area, naked, with some of their skin blistered. The bodies were lying on their sides, facing each other.
Head of the Jombang Police Criminal Investigation Unit, AKP Dimas Robi Alexander, explained that, at first glance, there were parts of the victims’ skin that appeared burned. However, the cause of death is still awaiting the results of an autopsy by a forensic doctor.
“From a quick visual inspection, there are several parts of the skin that appear burned. This will be examined by the forensic doctor,” said Dimas, quoted by detikJatim, Thursday (26/2/2026).
The bodies of the mother and child are suspected to be SY (36) and NCQ (5), residents of Desa Balonggebang, Gondang, Nganjuk. According to Dimas, two days ago, the victims’ husband reported his wife and daughter missing.
It is suspected that the mother and child were burned, as two bottles of petrol were found as evidence. One bottle was still full of petrol, while the other was empty.
“These bottles are suspected to contain fuel; we are currently securing them. We are conducting an investigation to determine whether this was a murder or not,” he explained.
The victims’ bodies are suspected to have been at the scene for more than two days. The bodies also showed signs of discoloration, suspected to be due to decomposition.
According to the husband, the victims and their child left home in the morning, riding a motorcycle. The vehicle was found at the entrance to the former police dormitory building in Dusun/Desa Rejoagung.
SY’s younger brother, Marno Hidayat, believes that the two bodies found in the former police dormitory are his sister and niece. SY was the eldest of three siblings from Desa Jatiganggong, Perak, Jombang.
According to him, SY was married to Nur Yanto (38) and they have two children. One of them is NCQ (5), who was also found dead in the former police dormitory. Their eldest son is currently in the second grade of junior high school.
