Most fuel prices to remain unchanged

The Jakarta Post, Jakarta

Prices of most fuel products for transportation and industry for the month of September remain unchanged, except for jet fuels Avtur and Avgas, state oil and gas firm PT Pertamina said on Wednesday.

The company said in a press release the price for Avgas is now Rp 6,391 per liter, compared to Rp 6,380 in August. While Avtur is Rp 3,542 per liter, up from Rp 3,179 a liter in the previous month. All prices include a 10 percent value-added tax.

The remaining fuel prices were unchanged despite a 9.8 percent increase in average crude oil prices.

Crude oil prices averaged US$40.47 a barrel between July and August.

Pertamina decides new fuel prices every month based on prices in neighboring Singapore and exchange rate developments. But the government has decided not to raise fuel prices during the elections.

Premium fuel for industry is Rp 2,100 per liter, kerosene Rp 2,200 per liter, automotive diesel fuel Rp 2,100 per liter and industrial diesel fuel Rp 2,050. Fuel oil is Rp 1,600 a liter.

The price of premium gasoline at gas pumps will remain flat at Rp 1,810 per liter, while the price of kerosene is still Rp 1,800 per liter.

Pertamina's high-quality gasoline brands Pertamax and Pertamax Plus were also unchanged at Rp 2,750 per liter and Rp 2,450 per liter respectively.
