Most fuel price down in December

The Jakarta Post, Jakarta

The prices of kerosene for industry, industrial diesel oil, and fuel oil are down in December, but prices for automotive diesel oil and Premium gasoline remain unchanged.

State oil and gas company Pertamina said in a press release Sunday that kerosene for industrial users was down from Rp 1,650 to Rp 1,530 per liter.

Industrial diesel oil is down Rp 10 from Rp 1,520 per liter to Rp 1,510. Fuel oil is Rp 1,120 per liter from the previous Rp 1,150 per liter.

Early this year, the government set fuel prices at 75 percent of the market rate, thus Pertamina has to adjust the prices every month according to fluctuations in the market. However, the government sets special prices for kerosene for households and all fuels for the mining, oil and gas industries.

The kerosene price for households is fixed at Rp 600 per liter throughout the year, while fuel prices for the mining, oil and gas industries are set at 100 percent of market prices.

Given the drop in the crude prices in the international market in the past month, Pertamina said fuel prices for the mining, oil and gas industries were down for December.

Kerosene is now at Rp 2,030 from Rp 2,220 per liter last month. Diesel oil is down from Rp 2,080 to Rp 2,000 per liter, while fuel oil is down from Rp 1,650 to Rp 1,490.

Automotive diesel oil at gas stations remains unchanged at Rp 1,550 per liter. But its price is down from Rp 2,120 to Rp 2,060 per liter for the mining, oil and gas companies.

As for the Super TT, Premix and Premium gasolines, the prices remain unchanged at Rp 2,500 per liter, Rp 2,400 per liter and Rp1,750 per liter respectively.
