Mosque Near Amien Rais' Home Receives Anonymous 'TIW' Qurban Cow

A 1.1-ton cow was used as a Qurban animal at Masjid Fatahillah in Padukuhan Gejayan, Condongcatur Village, Depok Subdistrict, Sleman Regency, Yogyakarta Special Region. The cow marked with the initials ‘TIW’ was sent by an unknown person to the mosque located near the residence of former MPR RI Chairman Amien Rais.

Muhani, chairman of Masjid Fatahillah’s Takmir, said the Simental cow was sent by someone from Jakarta. We were informed that the sacrificial animal was purchased from a breeder in Boyolali, Central Java.

‘We received information that this cow was a Qurban donation for Eid al-Adha,’ Muhani said when contacted on Friday, 29 May 2026.

Muhani admitted he does not know the exact identity of the person behind the ‘TIW’ initials. He stated that the local community expressed gratitude for the sacrificial cow.

‘We do not know the sender directly. Clearly, we thank the community for the sacrificial animal donation,’ he said.

He explained that information about the cow’s delivery was received from the local village head. Upon receiving the news, the mosque management quickly prepared necessary arrangements for the slaughter process.

‘The sender stated it was under the name of Mr TIW for the residents and hoped it would benefit the community,’ he said.

This year’s Eid al-Adha, Masjid Fatahillah, located near Amien Rais’ residence, received a total of five cows and 14 goats for sacrifice. Lilik Prabowo, head of RT 01 Gejayan, stated that all the sacrificial meat was distributed to local residents regardless of religious background.
