Mosque in Sade Village to Be Rebuilt, Timber Materials Retained
The Metro Insan Mulia (MIM) Foundation will help fund the rebuilding of a mosque in the traditional village of Sade, Pujut District, Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), following a fire. The reconstruction of the mosque will follow the original design.
MIM Foundation Director Romi Saefudin said his organisation had been entrusted by a donor to help rebuild the mosque. According to him, the fire disaster in Sade attracted widespread attention, prompting many parties to provide assistance.
“God willing, we from the MIM Foundation have been entrusted by a servant of God regarding the mosque,” Romi told detikBali on Wednesday (26/8/2026) in Sade Village.
He has coordinated with Central Lombok Deputy Regent HM Nursiah and NTB Governor Lalu Muhamad Iqbal regarding the plan to rebuild the mosque. However, the construction process is still awaiting the area reconstruction design, which is currently being prepared with the involvement of academics from Mataram University (Unram) and Gadjah Mada University (UGM).
“Earlier I coordinated with the Deputy Regent and the Governor. God willing, it will be designed first according to the original design, and in this case the designers will be Unram and UGM. After that, we will come in,” he said.
Based on an inspection of the site, Romi said the mosque is estimated to measure around 15 by 15 metres. Most of the construction is planned to use timber materials while still paying attention to safety aspects and fire risk mitigation.
However, regarding the budget amount, he could not yet state the figure. Nevertheless, he confirmed that the mosque construction needs would be prepared with reference to government price standards.
“We cannot yet mention the budget. But if the building area is around 15 by 15 metres, that can already be read. There are government unit prices that will be used. What is clear is that for the mosque, God willing, we will prepare it,” he stressed.
He encouraged the provision of firefighting facilities such as light fire extinguishers (APAR) at several strategic points in the Sade area. The fire incident some time ago should serve as a shared lesson to improve preparedness while strengthening the spirit of mutual cooperation.
“I hope the affected community remains strong. I think this is a shared lesson. Let us work together to rebuild Sade Village so that it can become what it once was,” he concluded.
