In Mbay, Nagekeo Regency, Muslims continued to perform Friday prayers despite damage to the Baiturrahman Grand Mosque. They held prayers in an emergency tent erected beside the mosque on Friday (28/8/2026). The earthquake measured M7.7 with its epicentre approximately 30 kilometres northeast of Mbay, Nagekeo, at a depth of 15 kilometres. BMKG recorded shaking in Mbay reaching VII MMI, while BNPB reported that the earthquake caused casualties and building damage in several areas of Flores. Post-disaster handling continues, including meeting community needs and repairing affected facilities.
