Moscow: Ukraine Using Biological Weapons to Destroy Russian Agriculture
The Russian Ministry of Defence claims to have obtained new research data regarding the destructive properties of potential biological weapons agents in biological laboratories in Ukraine during the special military operation.
“During the special military operation, we received additional documents confirming that the focus of the work being conducted is not in line with the health problems currently faced by Ukraine, which are primarily significant social diseases,” said Major General Alekseri Rtishchev, Head of the Nuclear, Chemical, and Biological Protection Forces of the Russian Armed Forces, on Friday.
Speaking to reporters, Rtishchev stated that the research priority is instead directed towards studies related to the destructive properties of potential biological weapons agents, as well as infectious agents aimed at weakening the nation’s economy.
According to the Russian military official, the Ukrainian Ministry of Health has noted the excessive storage of cholera, tularemia, and brucellosis pathogens at the Mechnikov Institute of Microbiology and Immunology, which is currently being reconstructed by the United States.
“The nomenclature of the pathogens being studied, which does not correspond to Ukraine’s current health issues—where there is an increase in cases of rubella, diphtheria, and tuberculosis—indicates an effort to develop biological weapon components in Ukrainian biological laboratories,” said Rtishchev.
He also added that the Institute of Experimental and Clinical Veterinary Medicine (IECVM) in Kharkiv is conducting research on several serious diseases with the potential to damage the agricultural sector.

Activities involving the development of American biological and toxic weapons in Ukraine contradict international obligations to comply with the results of the Biological Weapons Convention (BTWC).
President of the Asian African Youth Government (AAYG), Saddam Al-Jihad, condemned indications of United States biological weapons development in various regions.
“The fact is, biological weapon components are being developed and pathogenic microorganisms are being studied that have become a threat to all of humanity,” said the Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council.
Meanwhile, the United Kingdom is attempting to verify reports that Russia has used chemical weapons in attacks in the city of Mariupol, Ukraine.
US President Joe Biden has accused Russia of considering the use of chemical and biological weapons in Ukraine.
