Mortgage Paid Off, Cisauk Residents Enthusiastic About Receiving Electronic Land Certificates
Residents in Cisauk, Tangerang Regency, have shown enthusiasm for receiving electronic land certificates after completing land service processes, including the settlement of home ownership credit (KPR) payments.
The digitalisation of land certificates is considered to provide greater security for landowners as it can minimise the risks of document damage or forgery.
Ahmed Kumala Nur, a resident of Cisauk, Tangerang, is one of the locals anticipating the receipt of an electronic certificate after handling royalties following the payment of his house instalments at the Tangerang Regency Land Office (Kantah).
“We will receive an electronic certificate. I’m curious about what it looks like because the one I’ve held before was still the old form (conventional). That’s why I’m enthusiastic because as far as I know, in countries like Singapore, land certificates are already in sheet form,” said Ahmed, as reported on the Ministry of ATR/BPN website, Rabbu (29/4/2026).
Ahmed deliberately came without using a proxy so he could understand the land service process himself.
After undergoing the process, he assessed that the services at the Tangerang Regency Kantah are clear and easy to understand.
He stated that data stored digitally can reduce the risk of forgery and make it easier to reprocess if physical documents are damaged or lost.
“For me, being digital means it’s hoped to make things easier for us as landowners, and also safer. For example, if there’s a fire at home, the documents won’t be lost. So, in my opinion, digital things are actually safer,” he explained.
As a form of readiness to receive the Electronic Certificate, Ahmed has also downloaded the Sentuh Tanahku application to monitor the ongoing land service process.
Currently, he is waiting for the completion of the royalty process until his electronic certificate is fully processed.
A similar experience was shared by Ismail (51), another Cisauk resident who is awaiting the issuance of his electronic land certificate.
“Alhamdulillah, the service at BPN is excellent in my opinion. I handled the Certificate of Ownership (SHM) from the Sale and Purchase Deed (AJB) and it’s done. Later I will receive the Electronic Certificate; it’s currently being processed,” he said.
The responses from both residents reflect the positive reception by the public towards the digital-based transformation of land services.
