Morowali Religious Affairs Office Sets Zakat al-Fitr Rate at IDR 40,000 per Person for 2026
REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, PALU – The Religious Affairs Office of Morowali Regency, Central Sulawesi, has set the Zakat al-Fitr rate at IDR 40,000 per person for the year 1447 Hijri/2026 CE.
This decision is outlined in Letter Number 309/Kk.22.05/BA.00/02/2026, signed by the Head of the Morowali Religious Affairs Office, Marwiah, as quoted in Palu on Monday (February 23, 2026).
The letter states that the Zakat al-Fitr rate is set at 2.5 kilograms of rice or the equivalent of 3.5 liters per person. If paid in cash, the amount is IDR 37,500 per person. Meanwhile, the Fidya rate is set at IDR 45,000 per day.
Marwiah said that the collection of Zakat al-Fitr and Fidya will begin on the 1st of Ramadan 1447 H, which corresponds to February 19, 2026.
“We urge Muslims to fulfill their obligation of Zakat on time as a form of social concern and to complete their Ramadan fast,” she said.
She appealed to the public to channel their Zakat through the National Amil Zakat Agency (Baznas) Morowali, the Zakat Collection Unit (UPZ) in government and private institutions, and the UPZ located in mosques in each region.
Furthermore, she said that all Heads of the Religious Affairs Office (KUA) throughout Morowali have been asked to convey this information to the imams of mosques. In addition, the KUAs are also asked to report the results of the collection and distribution of Zakat al-Fitr, Zakat Mal, Sadaqah, and Fidya to the relevant parties.
The letter of determination is addressed to the imams of mosques, the Amil Zakat agencies or UPZs, and Islamic religious extension workers throughout Morowali. Copies of the letter are sent to the Head of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Religious Affairs of Central Sulawesi Province, the Regent of Morowali, and the Chairman of Baznas Morowali.
