Morowali Regent Affirms Support for BNSI Project in Push for Green Industry

The Morowali Regency Government has affirmed its support for the BNSI project as a measure to strengthen the direction of green industry in the region. In the presence of the Minister of Investment, Morowali Regent Iksan Baharudin Abdul Rauf conveyed the region’s commitment to encouraging investment that aligns with economic growth and environmental sustainability. The statement was made during the ceremony for the placement of the main Autoclave equipment for the BNSI project. The event was attended by the Minister of Investment and Downstreaming/Head of BKPM Rosan Roeslani, Central Sulawesi Deputy Governor Reny Lamadjido, along with a number of officials and stakeholders. Regent Iksan observed that industrial development in Morowali is entering a new phase. According to him, investment is no longer solely about production capacity. Instead, investment must also consider environmental impact and the use of cleaner technology. “We from the region certainly give our full support, because in Morowali Regency there are many industries coming to invest today. Our investors are now focusing on environmental aspects, zero emissions, and so on. That is indeed in line with the principles we apply in Morowali Regency,” Iksan stated on Wednesday (22/7/2026). The local government views this shift in industrial orientation as a strategic opportunity. Morowali has long developed as one of the national industrial growth centres. However, this growth requires balance. Therefore, the local government continues to encourage investment that can create economic benefits without neglecting the environment. The BNSI project is part of an effort to introduce more modern industrial technology.
