Morowali Regency to Open Second Phase of Scholarship Registration at End of July

The Morowali Regency Government, Central Sulawesi, is preparing to open the second phase of the Morowali Scholarship registration from late July until September 2026, with priority given to new students.

“God willing, from the end of July until September, we will open registration via the application. This second phase is specifically for new students,” said the Head of the Morowali Regency Education Office, Arifin Lakane, in Morowali on Thursday.

He stated that the registration process will be conducted through the Morowali Scholarship application, similar to the previous phase.

The Morowali Scholarship programme, he noted, is one of the flagship programmes of the Morowali Regency Government designed to assist with the educational financing of students from the region, while simultaneously improving the quality of Human Resources (HR).

According to him, the Morowali Regency Government has established collaborations with several companies, such as IMIP, Vale, and Hengjaya, for the distribution of scholarships. Furthermore, the government is coordinating with the Directorate General of Higher Education (Ditjen Dikty) under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (Kemdiktisaintek) to ensure that the distribution of educational assistance does not overlap.

“The regulation strictly prohibits receiving double scholarships, whether from the central government, province, or other institutions. That is the existing provision,” he said.

Consequently, Arifin urged prospective applicants to ensure they are only participating in a single scholarship programme to avoid violating the applicable regulations.

Meanwhile, the Morowali Education Office noted that 3,727 students were recipients of the first phase of the Morowali Scholarship for 2026 after successfully passing the administrative verification process.
