Moroccan woman deported

JAKARTA (JP): Directorate of Immigration deported a Moroccan woman on Thursday for abusing her stay permit.

The 30-year-old Morrocan, identified as Drissiu Sahmoui, left Soekarno-Hatta airport on Garuda Indonesia Airways flight number 962.

Immigration spokesman Mursanuddin Abdul Ghani told a media conference at his office that the woman was one of three alleged Moroccan prostitutes being hunted down by his office.

Central Jakarta Immigration chief Jusuf M. Ranuatmadja, who also spoke in the conference, said Sahmoi, holder of passport No. M 512817, was arrested in a hotel room on Jl. Pramuka in Central Jakarta last week after an undercover immigration officer propositioned her and took her into the room after paying US$100.

Sahmoui entered Indonesia on Jan. 12, using a short-stay tourist visa. (01)
