TANGERANG (JP): A group of armed robbers broke into a house in Jambe village in Tigaraksa district early on Monday, and stole a Kijang van, 24 grams of gold jewelry, a radio receiver and Rp 1 million.

Witness, Ujang, 41, told Tigaraksa police officers that the robbery, which targeted a house owned by Nanang, 43, took place at about 2:30 a.m.

Ujang said that he became suspicious of a parked minivan outside Nanang's house at such an early hour and went across to inspect the vehicle.

As soon as he approached, one of the criminals pointed a hand gun at him, demanding he leave the scene.

"I was very afraid at the time, but I still managed to observe their activities," he said.

Ujang said that, after overpowering the residents within the house, the thieves left the scene with the stolen goods in the victim's vehicle.
