Morning Jogger Discovers Human Head Floating on Ketewel Beach

A resident who was jogging was shocked to discover a human head floating in the estuary of the Wos River, Tan Sema Beach or the Ketewel coastline, Keden Banjar, Ketewel Village, Sukawati District, Gianyar Regency, this morning. Not only the head, but several other body parts were also found on the rocks of the breakwater on the beach.

“There was a discovery of a body in the estuary of the Wos River. The location is at the entrance to the Ketewel coastline on the south side,” said the Head of Public Relations (Kasi Humas) of the Gianyar Police, Ipda Gusti Ngurah Suardita, in his statement, Thursday (February 26, 2026).

The discovery was first known around 10:00 a.m. local time when a resident was exercising along the beach. He saw a suspicious object floating in the river estuary. After approaching, the object turned out to be a human head. The resident then reported his discovery to the police.

Upon receiving the report, police officers immediately went to the location and secured the crime scene. The police then searched the coastline to look for the possibility of other body parts.

“From the search by the joint team, several body parts were found around the location,” said Suardita.

So far, the identity of the owner of the head and body parts has not been identified. All the body parts found have been evacuated to the Prof. Ngoerah Hospital for the identification process and investigation of the cause of death.

“Regarding the identity, it is still under investigation, and currently the Bali Police and Gianyar Police teams are still in the process of investigation,” he said.
