Moringa supplement recalled in US over links to salmonella outbreak

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued a recall for Moringa Rosabella powder supplement products deemed to be linked to a salmonella outbreak.

As reported by Eating Well on Wednesday, the supplement products identified as contaminated are Moringa Rosabella with lot codes beginning with 1356, ranging from 5020591 to 5100048, with expiry dates through to November 2027.

The products were sold throughout the US online via platforms including eBay, TikTok Shop, Amazon, and other marketplaces.

As of 17 February, seven illness cases linked to salmonella have been reported, including three hospitalised patients who consumed the supplement.

The patients were located in the states of Arizona, Florida, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Tennessee, and Washington.

Authorities are continuing their investigation into the seven reported cases.
