Morgue employee dies

JAKARTA (JP): Cipto Mangunkusumo general hospital is mourning one of its morgue employees who was hit and killed by an Army car on Saturday morning.

Eddy Pratiknyo, an officer of the hospital, said that the accident happened on Jl. Matraman when 63-year-old Onah was on her way to the hospital from her residence in Depok.

Onah was crossing the street when the Army car hit her. She received a fatal head injury, Eddy said. "Everything has been settled out of court," he said.

Onah, who worked for Cipto Mangunkusumo for 16 years, died in the hospital emergency room soon after the accident.

Onah was popular with reporters who cover the daily activities of the morgue.

She leaves behind three sons, nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. (04)
