More voter cards printed

BATAM: Batam General Elections Commission (KPU) printed 30,000 more voter registration papers after it discovered that many eligible voters had not received the forms, which they need to enable them to vote.

The papers have to be presented to staff at polling stations as proof of voter eligibility.

"We have printed the papers and will distribute them to people immediately," said Hardi Hood, a member of Batam KPUD, on Saturday.

He said a good number of eligible voters in Batam did not get the papers because of administrative mistakes in the registration of eligible voters. Some residents were not home when officials from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) visited them. -- Antara
