More Vietnamese study in Singapore

SINGAPORE (DPA): Increasing numbers of Vietnamese are opting
to study in Singapore, lured by the city-state's success in
working with industrialized countries while maintaining Asian
cultural values, Vietnam's ambassador said in a report on Friday.

There are currently 81 Vietnamese undergraduates at the
National University of Singapore (NUS), a huge jump from seven
last year, bringing the total to about 300 studying here at
different institutions, Do Cong Minh told The Straits Times.

"Singapore has become the biggest foreign investor and an
important trading partner of Vietnam," Do was quoted as saying.

The NUS has conducted outreach activities in Vietnam,
including school visits and seminars to promote its courses.
