PT Perkebunan Nusantara or PTPN Group has organised the ‘One Man One Tree’ action. This initiative mobilises the collective strength of all employees to plant at least one tree in the areas around the company’s operational regions. This step not only focuses on environmental restoration but also serves as an effort to strengthen sustainable plantation ecosystems. The tree-planting programme simultaneously reinforces the company’s commitment to rehabilitating river catchment areas (DAS) in fulfilling the obligations of Indonesian Sustainable Palm Oil (ISPO) and Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) certifications. Both serve as indicators that palm oil plantation operations have considered environmental aspects and sustainability. From 2024 to April 2026, this state-owned plantation enterprise has successfully planted at least 142,400 trees. To ensure optimal impact, the selection of vegetation types is tailored to ecological needs as well as socio-economic potential in each operational area. The variety of plants includes conservation categories such as Pinus, Damar, Mahoni, Cendana, Bayur, Jamblang, Kiara Payung, Cemara, and Ketapang to strengthen ecosystems, as well as productive plants like Alpukat, Nangka, Durian, Jambu, and Aren that hold economic value for communities. The President Director of PT Perkebunan Nusantara III (Persero), Denaldy Mulino Mauna, stated that this tree planting is an integral part of all business processes carried out by the PTPN Group. “Business growth must run in parallel with efforts to preserve nature. Every step of the company is not only oriented towards productivity and business performance, but also towards ecosystem sustainability and improving environmental quality in the areas around the company’s operational regions,” he said on Friday, 24 April 2026.
