More Than 20 Countries to Attend Inaugural Peace Board Session
Washington (ANTARA) - More than 20 countries are expected to attend the meeting of the Board of Peace (BoP) established by US President Donald Trump, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said on Wednesday.
"I know there are more than 20 countries [that will attend the Peace Board meeting on 19 February], many are interested in it," Leavitt said at a press conference, promising that an exact list of participants would be provided later, along with details of the countries' contributions to the Peace Board.
Leavitt also said that Trump was scheduled to open the event with a speech and would officially chair the meeting at the outset before departing for the state of Georgia.
In January, Trump announced the formation of the Peace Board and invited approximately 50 countries to join. According to the White House, the organisation aims to support the reconstruction of Gaza and the path to peace.
