More than 2,000 buildings damaged by earthquake in NTT
More than 2,000 buildings have been recorded as damaged following a magnitude 7.7 earthquake that struck East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) on Saturday (15/8). As of Sunday (16/8) afternoon, the damage count continued to rise across the affected region. In Manggarai Regency, significant structural damage was observed at several key facilities, including the Bank NTT Ruteng branch office and the Manggarai Regent’s Office. Workers were seen inspecting the damaged buildings and moving items from affected premises. Authorities are continuing to assess the full extent of the destruction as emergency response and recovery efforts proceed.
