More S'pore men don aprons
SINGAPORE (AFP): More Singapore men are donning the apron and
taking over what has traditionally been their wives fiefdom --
the kitchen, a report said on Sunday.
Cooking classes in community centers have ceased to be the
exclusive domain of women, and all-male cooking classes are
gaining in popularity, the Sunday Times reported.
Of 18,000 people who signed up for cooking lessons organized
by People's Associations last year, 3,000 were men.
Jacinta Lim, deputy director for the community-based People's
Associations, said more men were learning how to cook because of
changing lifestyles.
Professional cook Charlie Ang, 62, boasts he is a better cook
than his wife.
