More regency staff in Bogor

BOGOR (JP): The local administration is expecting an influx of 4,700 employees from ministries' regional offices liquidated when regional autonomy is implemented in January, an official said on Thursday.

The chairman of the special committee in charge of the administrative structure at the regency office, Rachmat Yasin, said the additional staff would make a total of 20,000 people employed by the regency administration.

"I think this number is still ideal since there are four million people who live in the regency," Rachmat said.

Rachmat said the central government, through the Bogor administration, would allocate Rp 200 billion in next year's budget to pay the salaries of the 20,000 employees. (21/jaw)
