More Illegal Tree Felling Discovered in Bandung, This Time in Dago

Illegal tree felling has not only occurred on Jalan LLRE Martadinata (Riau) in front of the padel court in Bandung. The Bandung City Government (Pemkot) has again discovered a number of trees on Jalan Ir H Juanda, in the Dago area, that were cut down indiscriminately.

Based on observations on Tuesday (11/8/2026), the felled trees have now been marked with seal lines by the Bandung Municipal Police (Satpol PP). There are three sealed tree felling sites, located not far from a hotel in the Upper Dago area.

A local resident, Roni, said the felled trees were medium-sized. As he recalled, the trees had disappeared from the location for quite some time. “It happened a long time ago. No one noticed, and suddenly it was all cleared with nothing left,” he said.

This information has been directly received by the Mayor of Bandung, Muhammad Farhan. In addition to Jalan Dago, the city government has intervened by sealing several other illegal tree felling areas, such as on Jalan Sawunggaling and Cijerah.

“The one on Sawunggaling has not been acted upon yet, but we have marked it. The one on Insinyur Juanda has also been marked, but not yet acted upon. And the one on Cijerah has also not been acted upon; there will be follow-up actions,” said Farhan.
