More drug arrests expected
MATARAM, W. Nusa Tenggara: Police said they hope to make more arrests after the discovery of a syndicate that has run a huge marijuana plantation on Lombok island, Antara reported.
Police last week arrested 11 men believed to be members of the syndicate, and seized 849 marijuana plants from them.
The plants came from nine plantations in Gunungsari and Narmada districts in the West Lombok regency, spokesman of West Nusa Tenggara Police, Capt. Dachlan Endjang, said
Police still did not know who owned the plantations, but the investigation focused on a suspect identified as Har, a local man married to a German woman, he said.
Police appointed lawyers from the Tri Sukses Legal Aid Institute to represent the suspects in the investigation. (09)
