More British Airways flights

JAKARTA (JP): British Airways, a leading international airline, will increase its Jakarta-London service, via Kuala Lumpur, from four times to five times per week starting on Sunday.

The company's Jakarta manager, David Jones, said yesterday that all the flights will be operated with Boeing B-747-400 aircraft.

"Indonesia is growing in popularity. We've witnessed a 12 percent growth in traffic on this route so far this year," he said.

British Airways, serving 200 destinations in 59 nations with 250 aircraft, has been flying to Indonesia for over 25 years.

As a reciprocal service, the country's flag carrier Garuda Indonesia currently operates MD-11 jets on its twice-weekly London-Denpasar (Bali) service, via Abu Dhabi and Bangkok. (icn)
