Monster Energy Becomes Aprilia's Main Sponsor in MotoGP

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The factory Aprilia Racing team reportedly has secured a main sponsor for the MotoGP season 2026. The collaboration marks an important step for Aprilia, which until now had been the only MotoGP factory team without a main sponsor. Indeed, the Italian team’s form had been on the rise over the past two seasons.

Although finishing as runner-up in the constructors’ standings and third in the riders’ standings with Marco Bezzecchi in 2025, Aprilia still began the season without a main sponsor. Meanwhile its rivals already had major partners, such as KTM with Red Bull, Honda with Castrol, Yamaha with Monster Energy, and Ducati backed by Lenovo.

‘In the end, if our partner believes in what we do, I think we will continue to have a sponsor as good as the one we have now,’ Rivola said, as cited by Crash (22/5/2026).

Rumours of Monster Energy’s involvement thus emerged as an answer to the long-hoped-for major sponsor search by Aprilia.

Currently, Aprilia leads the MotoGP constructors’ standings. Meanwhile, Bezzecchi leads Martin by 15 points after the Catalan Grand Prix this past weekend. This dominance has made Aprilia increasingly attractive to major sponsors. According to Crash.net, Monster Energy will begin appearing as Aprilia’s main sponsor from their home race at Mugello.

This move also draws attention because it comes amid rumours that Monster Energy will end its main sponsor partnership with Yamaha at the end of the season, following reports of Fabio Quartararo’s move to Honda.

Bezzecchi himself is already an athlete for Monster Energy. Other big names such as two-time world champion Pecco Bagnaia are also reportedly set to join Aprilia next season after signing a four-year contract.
