Monks from various countries attend Borobudur Festival 2026's Nyingma Monlam Chenmo prayer ceremony

Monks walked while playing traditional Tibetan musical instruments during the Nyingma Monlam Chenmo prayer ceremony at the Borobudur Peace and Prosperity Festival #5 in Aksobya Garden, Borobudur temple complex, Magelang, Central Java, on Thursday, 28 May 2026. Buddhist followers from the Muli Sangha Tantrayana organisation from various countries, including Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, and China, performed the ritual to pray for world peace, Indonesia’s unity, and to celebrate Vesak 2570 BE.
